At the heart of Reflections Impress lies a meticulously planned layout that addresses the challenges of western exposure and irregular space. The design utilizes the company's signature red to envelop the space, creating an atmosphere that is both comfortable and textured, enhancing the work environment. The project's unique feature, an access control system, is seamlessly integrated into the design, transforming the interior into a maze of arcs and glass that reflect the brand's avant-garde image.
The reception area, strategically positioned at a 45-degree angle from the elevator, showcases the company's logo on a beveled facade, instantly communicating the brand's technological prowess to visitors. This innovative approach to spatial design not only serves a functional purpose but also reinforces the company's identity. The use of glass, white baking lacquer, and other high-quality materials throughout the office and training spaces creates a crystal-clear texture that resonates with the glass elements, while natural materials in the lounge area evoke serenity and trustworthiness.
Chia-Chien Yin's design addresses the technical limitations of a 30-year-old commercial building, such as a low ceiling height of only 2.3 meters, by preserving the ceiling height and incorporating exposed pipes that align with the aesthetic of a technology company. The facade's grilles add a rhythmic element to the design, further enhancing the visual experience. The project, completed in March 2022 in Taipei, demonstrates a keen understanding of the needs of a technology startup, with a focus on light tones and smooth transitions between large spaces.
The office is not just visually impressive; it is also highly functional. The staff office area provides a comfortable and spacious workstation, while the lounge caters to guests, staff, and managers. In the manager's office, a sliding wooden grille doubles as a wall and storage space, offering a sense of reliability and practicality. The design's success lies in its ability to maintain a stable and harmonious rhythm throughout the large space, using lines and light as visual guides and connecting each area appropriately.
Reflections Impress overcame significant challenges, including coordinating construction with ongoing company operations and addressing the building's western exposure. The design's thoughtful approach to insulation and material selection ensured a comfortable and efficient workspace. The main color, red, serves as a visual guide, leading the eye through the space and emphasizing the company's spirit and vitality. The design's intricate details, from the beveled counter to the layers of space, contribute to an impression of trustworthiness and professionalism.
Chia-Chien Yin's Reflections Impress has been recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the A' Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design Award category for 2024. This accolade celebrates the design's creativity, resourcefulness, and contribution to enhancing quality of life, affirming its status as a design that not only meets the functional needs of a technology company but also pushes the boundaries of interior office design.
